Finished reading Jeremy De Quidt's 'The Toymaker'. I don't normally read YA stuff but fancied a change and picked this one up. I'm glad I did, totally wasn't what I was expecting and it's got killer dolls in it! Had a great time reading this one, my full review is over Here. I'm now reading John Meaney's 'Black Blood' amongst others...

Finished reading C.L. Werner's 'Forged in Chaos', a 'Warhammer: Age of Reckoning' game tie-in. This is not a challenging or 'deep' read by any stretch of the imagination (and can get a little repetitive too) but it is a whole load of fun. Crammed full of 'Hack and Slash' goodness! My full review is over Here. I'm still working my way through 'Black Blood' amongst others...

Finished reading Charlaine Harris' 'Dead until Dark', a book that contrived to make me keep reading while wanting to put it down all at the same time. my full review is over Here. I'm well into 'Black Blood' and the plan is to finish it tonight. There's a mouse in the house though so we'll see if that happens...

I loved 'The Cole Protocol'! Very Happy Will you be reading the new collection of 'Halo' short stories?

Finished reading Anthony Reynolds' 'Dark Creed', Warhammer 40K tie-in fiction focussing on the 'Word Bearers' Traitor Legion. The outcome is never in any real doubt but the real fun lies in getting to the conclusion, not the conclusion itself. If you're a fan of 'over the top war in space' then you'll enjoy this one. My full review is over Here. No idea what I'll be reading next...

Finished reading Troy Denning's 'Invincible', the last book in the 'Star Wars: Legacy of the Force' series. It was a lot of fun to read but a loss of focus right at the end, along with a tendency for characters to 'bypass danger' when it suits the author, soured things somewhat. My full review is over Here. I'm now reading David Gemmell's 'Quest for Lost Heroes'...

Finished reading 'Quest for Lost Heroes' (David Gemmell). While it was very entertaining it also had the same themes that Gemmell always seems to tackle and his 'tell it like it is' approach undermined some of the more fantastical elements of the plot. My full review is right Here. No idea what to read next...

Finished reading Aaron Dembski-Bowden's 'Soul Hunter', Warhammer 40K tie-fiction about the machinations of the traitor legions (The Night Lords in particular). 'Soul Hunter' is a slow burner to start off with but does give you plenty to get your teeth into; it ramps up the pace later on and that's when it's worth sticking around for! My full review is over Here. I fancied a bit of a change of pace and am now reading Lucy Snyder's 'Spellbent'.

Finished reading Lucy Snyder's 'Spellbent' where a young woman must go against the entire magic using community in order to rescue her lover from hell. On the face of it, there isn't much to distinguish this from most other Urban Fantasy novels. When you dig a little deeper this is still the case but 'Spellbent' is too much fun for this to be a really big deal, I'd give the next book a go. My full review is over Here. I'm now finishing off 'Black and White' (Jackie Kessler & Caitlin Kittredge)...

Finished reading 'Black and White' (Jackie Kessler & Caitlin Kittredge), a tale of superheroes and superheroes gone bad... or have they? As with 'Spellbent' yesterday, 'Black and White' doesn't really bring anything new to the table but it's still a very entertaining read. My full review is over Here. I'm now well into Charles de Lint's 'Muse and Reverie'.

Didn't get round to finishing 'Muse and Reverie' but did finish an ARC of Ari Marmell's 'The Conqueror's Shadow', a tale of a former 'Dark Lord' who must come out of retirement when a new invasion of the land suddenly gets personal. Marmell has an unfortunate habit of casting all his characters in the same sarcastic vein but the story itself is very entertaining and well worth the time reading. My full review is over Here. And now it's back to 'Muse and Reverie'...

Finished reading Seamus Cooper's 'The Mall of Cthulhu', where a coffee making slacker stands in the way of an evil plot to raise Cthulhu in the middle of a shopping mall in Providence. 'Mall of Cthulhu' suffers in that it tries to be too many things for a book that's only 235 pages long. It's a lot of fun though and one that I'd recommend to those who like their gods with lots of tentacles! My full review is over Here. I'm now finally finishing off 'Muse & Reverie'...

I finished reading 'Death & Dishonour', a collection of fantasy stories set in the 'Warhammer' universe. Not all of the stories did it for me but there was enough blood n' guts to keep me happy on the whole; Paul Kearney's 'Broken Blood' was the highlight! This book is a good place to start if you're looking to get into Warhammer fantasy fiction for the first time. My full review is over Here. I'm now finishing off 'Star Wars: Crosscurrent' (Paul S. Kemp).

Finished Paul S. Kemp's 'Crosscurrent', a Star Wars novel about time travel and a new threat to the Jedi order. While the 'new threat' bit makes it sound like a rehash of other Star Wars books, Kemp's take on this is refreshing and could lead to an intriguing series of books. I hope it does. 'Crosscurrent' takes a while to get going but once it does... Star Wars fans won't be disappointed with this one as it's full of all the stuff that made the films great. My full review is over Here. I'm now working my way through N.K. Jemisin's 'The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms'...
